Profiling

Nominal quotas

Nominal values are used for more accurate insights for each of your profiling quotas. They provide more accurate insights, increased flexibility and ease of setting target completes for each profile, and reduced errors when rounding target complete goals.

To use nominal quotas:

  1. Click on the ellipsis (three-dot menu).

  2. Select change to nominal quotas. You can now add profiling quotas as nominal values.

If you have entered your quotas as percentages, these will be automatically converted to nominal values.

  3. Switch back to percentage quotas by selecting the ellipsis (three-dot menu) again, and select change to percentage quotas.

See the nominal quota values FAQ for more information.

Templates

The templates dropdown displays templates created by someone on your account. Select from one of the account level options and those configurations will appear in an expanded profiling section.

See the creating, saving, and managing profiling templates FAQ for more information on templates.

Import

Selecting this option will override anything previously created.

To use an existing target group profile:

  1. Click import.

  2. Search for the desired target group by its name or ID.

  3. Click confirm. The target group's profiling information appears for use.

  4. Edit the target group's unique qualifications and quota requirements, if desired.

Add profiling

Add profiling to completely customize your profiling information.

  1. Click add profiling.

    The profile library displays.

  2. Enter or search by the profile's name, filter by category, or scroll through a list of profiles.

  3. Select a profile and customize the parameters.

  4. Click add profile to include it in your target group. The profiles will appear in the profiling section.

Default quota percentages are shown under the quota column.

  5. If desired, override the values.

To revert back to the panel distribution recommendations, select by panel again.

Once you've added all your profiling, if you need to create quotas, toggle them on.

Quotas

The quotas option allows you to control the number of samples from each profiling condition that flow from the Cint Exchange to your survey. The default status is inactive, and unless they are toggled on, quotas for each condition will not be tracked.

Age selection interface showing options for age range and quota settings.

  1. Enable quotas.

  2. Click the right-facing arrow to expand and customize the conditions.

  3. Click these three dots next to the quotas toggle, to open additional options.

    1. Save as template: This option lets you save the profile as a template for future use. Wen selected the profile and moved it into an account-level template so it can be quickly accessed when configuring Target Groups.

    2. Change quotas to percentage

    3. Delete all profiling: This option clears all profiling, allowing you to start over.

The feasibility information dynamically updates at the top as you customize your target group.

Project settings overview highlighting feasibility and target group details for survey.

Feasibility provides real-time information on whether you can achieve your desired number of completes and at what price.

See interlocked quotas vs control quotas vs balanced fill for additional information.

Quota values must be positive integers. They cannot be set to 0 (zero). To pause a quota, set the quota's complete goal equal to the number of completes already achieved. This will prevent additional respondents from entering that category.

Interlock quotas

Interlocked quotas allow you to combine quotas. This improves the precision of audience targeting by allowing you to assign respondent counts to combinations of conditions across multiple profiles in a target group.

For example, if you are targeting based on gender and ethnicity, you can set quotas for specific profiles such as “Japanese male” and “Japanese female” to ensure each combination has a defined respondent count.

Interlocked and non-interlocked profiles can be included in the same target group.

  1. Create a target group.

  2. Complete the basic settings.

  3. Open the profiling tab and add profile information or use one of the pre-made templates.

  4. Hover over the profile you want to interlock.

  5. Click the three-dot menu and select interlock quotas.

  7. Click on the conditions you have interlocked to view the respondent counts. Update them if desired.

From here, you can define your respondent count for each combination of profile conditions or use the counts pre-populated by the quota optimizer.
