Finalize

From the finalize section, you can complete the URLs and launch options for your survey.

Watch the training video on how to configure the finalizing section of a target group

Configure the finalize section of the target group:

  1. Click start.

  2. Enter the target group's name.

  3. Select a different Project Manager, if desired.

  4. Enter the reference number, if desired.

See the customer reference number FAQ for more information.

  5. Click the industry dropdown to select the industry the target group will run.

  6. Click the industry lockout dropdown to select the lockout. This blocks a respondent from taking a survey in the same industry terminated based on their past survey participation.

  7. Enter the live URL. This is the URL respondents are directed to when taking the actual target group.

  8. Enter the test URL. This is the URL that project managers are directed to when testing.

  9. Click build URL button to customize how you want to identify the target group variable.

    1. The drawer opens with your live URL already populated.

    2. Enter the respondent ID.

    3. Click add variable to add additional variables to your URL.

    4. When you've finished, click Apply URL and the drawer will close.

  10. Select at least one of the four automated fielding options.

See the automated fielding FAQ for more information.

    1. Prevent overfilling: Runs the survey on prescreen to ensure your attractive Target Group does not overfill due to high CPI, low estimated LOI, etc.

    2. Balanced fill: Ensures the survey gets filled proportionally by pacing the survey at the same speed as the most difficult quota to fill. However, it could potentially make the survey slower and more expensive. This method prevents the survey from becoming infeasible due to quota imbalance.

    3. Optimized cost per complete (CPI): Prevents you from going over the budget or the assigned CPI. This option ensures that you have the optimized CPI per demand and supply changes in the marketplace. You can optimize your cost based on the maximum budget you want to spend by the target group end date or the max CPI. Both options allow you to set a minimum CPI.

If you are a rate card customer, the optimize CPI option will not be available.

    4. Pace your completes: Automates the pacing of the new quota’s opening that requires a consistent and balanced number of responses by minutes, hours or days.

The linear option ensures the quotas are evenly incremented in regular intervals between start and end date. This is suitable for cases when:

      1. The completes goal is not expected to change.

      2. The user wants to retroactively catch up to a linear fill curve mid-campaign and evenly pace from there.

The adaptive option ensures your quotas are incrementally adjusted at regular intervals. Increments are recalculated at the start of each interval or after a change to completes goal. Best used for cases when:

    5. The user expects to tweak the completes goal mid-field, and wants to alter (speed up, or slow down) the pace from the point they’ve made the change.

The pacing graph provides a clear, visual representation of how completes will be paced over time, in minutes, hours, or days. This helps improve fill rates and reduce overquota.

    6. The user expects that supply might not be sufficient at times, and wants pacing to adapt to the slowdown mid-campaign.

  11. Click the test target group button. Two options display:

    1. Marketplace screener: Have you gone through the pre-screen survey before your survey? This option is recommended as it gives a true end-to-end testing experience.

    2. Client survey: Skips the pre-screen survey and brings you directly to your survey.

  12. Close the window.

To test your survey and screeners before going live, test directly through the client survey, as only that checks GDPR compliance.

To validate full screeners (e.g., age or targeting criteria), use the Exchange screener with a live target group.

You can then switch the target group back to pending after testing.

See launch a target group for information on launching your target group.
