Panel Insights Analytics

Panel insights provides user-friendly, data visualization reports on the panel retention, demographics, survey specifics, and panel financials. These reports give panel owners control and transparency of panel performance and ensure panel owners can be confident in the actions they take to grow and optimize their panels with accurate, easy-to-understand reporting.

The following reports are available for panel insights:

  • Overview report: provides a general overview of key performance metrics, including active users, participation, completes, conversion rate, revenue, and unsubscribers.

  • Retention report: tracks total panelists, total active users, churned users, and other retention metrics.

  • Demographics report: offers insights into the performance and demographics of a panel, including age and gender breakdown across revenue, completes, conversion rates, and more.

  • Survey report: provides insights into the survey activity of a panel and tracks participation, completes, terminations, reversal rate, and more.

  • Financial report: tracks data about panel revenue and costs, such as total revenue, incentive costs, and more.

To view the panel insights, select analytics > panel insights in the main menu.

The following descriptions correspond to the numbered filters and components in the image above:

  1. The company filter dropdown allows you to view the insights for a specific company.

  2. The panel filter dropdown displays a list of all panels created for the selected company. Select a specific panel to view its recruitment analytics.

  3. The compare feature allows you to compare up to five panels.

  4. The main banner contains the following information based off the panels chosen in the compare section:    

    The number of active users for 7, 30, 90, and 365 days.

    • Country: the country where the panel is displayed.

    • Language: the language the panel is displayed in.

    • YTD total panelists: the number of panelists in the panel from the start of the year to date.

    • YTD completes: the number of survey completes in the panel from the start to the year to date.

    • YTD revenue: the total revenue generated from panelists activities from the start of the year to date.

    • YTD cost: the total incentives paid to the panelists from the start of the year to date.

  5. There are five reports available in the panel insights. Click the tab to view the reports.

  6. The date range beneath the banner allows for you to specify a specific timeframe for the displayed analytics. You can then select if you want to split the information daily, weekly, or monthly on the x-axis from the dropdown.

Overview

This report is displayed by default. It provides a general overview of key performance metrics, including active users, participation, completes, conversion rate, revenue, and unsubscribers.

The totals displayed here are based off the panels selected in the compare section.

Panelists activity totals for all selected panels. See the compare section on how to change the panels displayed.

  • Total: the number of panelists that have interacted with all specified panels.

  • Sign-ups: the number of panelists that have signed up for the surveys within the specified panels.

  • Churned: the number of panelists who have not been active in the last 90 days.

  • Banned: the number of panelists that have been banned within the specified panels.

  • Unsubscribed: the number of panelists who have closed their accounts.

Survey activity totals for all surveys with the selected panels. See the compare section on how to change the panels displayed.

  • Participations: the number of surveys that have been started, but not necessarily completed.

  • Completes: the number of surveys that have been completed.

  • Conversation rate: this is the percentage of panelists who complete the entire survey, out of those who started it.

  • Revenue: the revenue acquired from booked participations. The pending revenue for the current 30 day period is displayed on the 26th day of the following month.

The following charts are available:

  • Gender: the gender of all panelists.

  • Age: the ages of all panelists.

  • Total active users: the number of users that are active and had at least one participation in the last 30 days.

  • Registration active users: the number of users who are not banned and have had one participation in the last 90 days.

  • Churned users: the number of users who were last active more than 90 days ago.

  • Banned panelists: the number of users who have been banned. See engage: bulk banning or individual panelists banning for more information on banning or unbanning users.

  • Total revenue: total revenue generated from panelists activities. The revenue in this chart includes only revenue from booked participations. The pending revenue for the current 30 day period is displayed on the 26th day of the following month.

  • Participations: the number of surveys that have been started, but not necessarily completed.

  • Screenouts: the number of users that did not meet the specific criteria required to complete a particular survey and were disqualified or exited from the survey early.

  • Conversion rate: the percentage of panelists who completed a survey.

  • Unsubscribes: the number of panelists who have closed their accounts.

  • Registration conversation rate: the percentage of users who are active out of the total number of registrations.

Retention

This report tracks total panelists, total active users, churned users, and other retention metrics.

The totals displayed here are based off the panels selected in the compare section.

The following charts are available:

  • Total panelists: the number of users who are active.

  • Total active users: the number of users that are active and had at least one participation in the last 30 days.

  • Churned users: the number of users who were last active more than 90 days ago.

  • Sign-ups: the number of panelists that have signed up for the surveys within the specified panels.

  • Confirmed registration emails: the number of users who have confirmed their registration through an email.

  • Participations: the number of surveys that have been started, but not necessarily completed.

  • Unsubscribes: the number of panelists who have closed their accounts.

Demographics

This report offers insights into the performance and demographics of a panel, including age and gender breakdown across revenue, completes, conversion rates, and more.

The totals displayed here are based off the panels selected in the compare section.

There are two **metrics by age and gender** tables available:

  • Age: this table provides a summary of the demographic reports (listed on the left side of the table) and the corresponding age range (listed at the top of the table).

  • Gender: this table provides a summary of the demographic reports (listed on the left side of the table) and the corresponding gender (listed at the top of the table).

The following charts are available:

  • Gender: the gender of all panelists.

  • Age: the age range of all panelists.

  • Total active users: the number of users that are active and had at least one participation in the last 30 days.

  • Total revenue: total revenue generated from panelists activities. The revenue in this chart includes only revenue from booked participations. The pending revenue for the current 30 day period is displayed on the 26th day of the following month.

  • Completes: the number of surveys that have been completed.

  • Conversation rate: the percentage of panelists who complete the entire survey, out of those who started it.

  • Participations: the number of surveys that have been started, but not necessarily completed.

  • Unsubscribes: the number of panelists who have closed their accounts.

Survey

This report provides insights into the survey activity of a panel and tracks participation, completes, terminations, reversal rate, and more.

The totals displayed here are based off the panels selected in the compare section.

The following charts are available:

  • Panelist activity: the number of participations, completes, and terminates for all surveys.

  • Reversal rate: the number of participations that have been reversed.

  • Conversion rate: the percentage of panelists who complete the entire survey, out of those who started it.

Financials

This report tracks data about panel revenue and costs, such as total revenue, incentive costs, and more.

The totals displayed here are based off the panels selected in the compare section.

The following charts are available:

  • Total revenue: the revenue from booked participations.

  • Incentive costs: the costs from booked participations.

The total revenue and pending costs for the current 30 days period displays on the 26th day of the following month, after the quality checks are finished.

All charts can be downloaded by:

  1. Select the ... ellipsis in the upper right hand corner of any chart.

  2. Click on download to CSV.

  3. The file automatically downloads.
