Respondent unique codes

What are respondent unique codes?

Respondent unique codes are 64-character alphanumeric values that you can add to your Target Group. These will then be added to the Survey entry URL as a [%RESPONDENT_UNIQUE_CODE%] variable, and each session a respondent enters will have a pre-determined unique code assigned to their session.

This will add a layer of survey security that ensures the uniqueness of every complete, provide more control over respondent tracking, and improve internal response auditing.

What format should be used for respondent unique codes?

All respondent unique codes must consist solely of alphanumeric characters, hyphens (-), and underscores (_). Each code must have a length between 1 and 64 characters, inclusive.

The Cint Exchange platform will automatically remove all leading and trailing whitespace once your codes are saved to your target group.

How does the Cint Exchange platform ensure the uniqueness of every respondent unique code?

The Cint Exchange will automatically delete any duplicate codes uploaded to the target group, and only their initial presence will be considered.

If you add additional live codes during target group fielding and those are duplicates of already-existing codes within the target group, these will not be uploaded.

What is the difference between a live and test respondent unique code?

The live respondent unique codes are used in the live URL when your target group is launched to collect responses.

The test respondent unique codes are used in the test URL configured to be used when you are testing your target group prior to launching it.
