Qualifications and targeting

Prev Next

Qualifications are used primarily to target respondents and to set study quotas within the Marketplace.

Standard vs. Custom Qualifications

Standard qualifications are available to each Lucid Marketplace client. The majority of suppliers have profiled their panelists against the standard qualifications; therefore, including them in the study will help increase the incidence rate.

Custom qualifications are unique qualifications created by users of the Lucid Marketplace. Suppliers have not profiled against custom qualifications; therefore, including them in the study will not help increase the incidence rate. Typically custom qualifications are only used when building custom quotas or when balancing sample into a client-side study. For example, if a client only wants respondents who have worn Nike shoes to enter into the study, a custom qualification would be appropriate.

If you want your custom qualifications to be available for supplier integrations, best practice is to toggle Expose Customs on the top right into the ON position.

See custom qualifications for more information on how to build a custom qualification.

As a default for English-United States studies, the Marketplace will automatically add the most commonly used Marketplace standard qualifications: AGE, ZIP, GENDER, HISPANIC, ETHNICITY, and STANDARD\_HHI\_US\_v2. If the study does not require these qualifications, they can be inactivated.

See the Deleting a Qualification section below for more information.

For legal reasons, the accepted conditions for the AGE qualification range from 13 to 99. The age range can be edited; however, respondents under the age of 13 in the US must be recruited through parents.
