What is changing?
The Recruitment study type will be removed from the Cint Exchange, in both the UI and the API. Once removed, this study type will no longer be available to select for new projects.
When will this change take effect?
The removal is expected in October 2026. An exact date will be confirmed and shared as this work progresses.
Why is the Recruitment Study Type being removed?
Cint Exchange prohibits using surveys to recruit respondents into another panel, mailing list, or other group used to source respondents. Removing the Recruitment study type from the UI and API brings study type options fully in line with this policy. Please note, this is not a new rule; it enforces a policy that is already in place.
Does this affect projects I am already running?
If you have used the Recruitment study type this year, your account team is already in contact with you to help close out any ongoing activity ahead of removal.
What happens if I have not used the Recruitment study type?
Nothing will change for you. The study type will simply no longer be available to select once it is removed.
What if I need to recruit panelists for research purposes?
Recruiting into a research project itself—such as a focus group, community build, face-to-face research, diary study, or recontact—remains permitted. What is not permitted is using a Cint Exchange project to recruit respondents into a separate panel. That must take place outside the platform.
Why was this study type available if it is against Cint's policy?
Cint is tightening enforcement of its existing policies across the platform, and removing this study type is part of that effort. The focus of this change is to ensure the platform fully reflects the policy going forward.
I have a project planned that uses this study type. Can I get an exception or extension?
This change applies consistently across the Exchange, so exceptions are not available on a project-by-project basis. If you have a project in flight that uses this study type, your account team can help you plan around the change.
Does this mean Cint identified a fraud or quality issue with these projects?
No. This change reflects Cint's ongoing commitment to panel quality. Policies are enforced consistently to ensure that every project on the Exchange represents genuine market research, and this removal is part of that effort.
I integrate with the Cint API. Is there anything I need to do?
If your integration references the Recruitment study type by value, please review and update your integration ahead of removal, as cached or hardcoded values may no longer be valid once the study type is removed.
