Soft-launching a study

Prev Next

A soft launch allows users to test a study prior to full launch by running a smaller sample set through their study. This allows the user to make any necessary changes to the study before launching for the entire data set. Soft launches are typically conducted for a small percentage of the overall expected sample size, usually 5-10%. A soft launch will help test a variety of functionality and estimates, including:

  • Survey setup and design

  • Redirect links

  • Data quality

  • Bid length of interview and incidence rate

In order to soft launch a study in the marketplace interface, navigate to the quotas page and update the total quota to the soft launch amount. In the example below, the soft launch amount is 20, which is 10% of the entire completes goal of 200.
