Enhanced Zip/Postal Code Targeting FAQ

Prev Next

To support more granular research and larger-scale studies, we have significantly increased the capacity for zip and postal code targeting within the Cint Exchange. Below are the answers to common questions regarding these updates.

General Limits & Capabilities

What is the new zip/postal code limit?

All accounts now have a default limit of 10,000 zip/postal codes across all target groups. This is a significant increase from the previous 999 constraint, allowing you to launch more comprehensive studies without splitting groups.

Can I increase my limit beyond 10,000?

Yes. On a case-by-case basis, Cint can extend this limit to 30,000 codes. This requires a review of feasibility and demand. To request this increase, please contact your Cint Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Is the limit per group or total per project?

The limit applies to the total number of codes across all groups within a target group. For example, if you have three groups, the sum of all codes in those three groups cannot exceed your account limit (10k or 30k).

Workflow & User Interface

How do I use this feature in the UI?

The workflow remains the same as the existing process. You can add zip/postal code values directly from the profile library while creating your target group.

See the Target group profiling configuration article for more information on adding profiling.

Why can't I expand the groups on the main profile screen?

Because a group can now contain up to 30,000 values, expanding them in the main view would be difficult to navigate. Instead, the group name will display the total count of codes it contains.

  • To see values: Click the Conditions link to open the profiling slide-out.

  • To edit/view specific codes: Click the Edit icon within the slide-out.

Is there a limit on the number of groups I can create?

  • Currently: There is no specific upper limit as long as your total quotas stay within the standard 350 limit.

  • Upcoming Change (Q2 2026): We will be implementing a maximum of 10 groups for open-ended profiles per target.

API & Technical Details

Which API versions support this increase?

The new limits are available in the following API versions:

  • 2025-05-27

  • 2025-12-18

Note on UI/API Compatibility: Target groups created via the 2025-05-27 API version will not show the open-ended grouping feature when accessed in the UI. To ensure full visibility and parity between the API and UI, we recommend using the 2025-12-18 version.
