The Lucid Marketplace operates uniquely compared to traditional panel providers. Below are some answers for questions you frequently ask sample providers, from the viewpoint of our marketplace.
Sample sourcing
How are respondent incentives handled in the Marketplace?
Our respondents are sourced from a variety of supplier types who have control over incentivizing their respondents based on their business rules. Each incentive program is unique. Some Suppliers do not incentivize their respondents at all, most provide loyalty reward points or gift cards, and some provide cash payments. Lucid does not control the incentivization models of our Suppliers, as that's part of their individual business models. The method of incentivization also varies; for instance, some Suppliers use the survey’s CPI to calculate incentive, others LOI, or a combination of the two. Each respondent agrees to their panel’s specific incentivization method when they join.
My client wants to know how many email invitations were sent to fill their study. How do I find this information?
Targeted email invitations are only one of the many ways that panel companies interact with their respondents. Other methods include online portals, offerwalls, and SMS or in-app messaging. We cannot provide insight into the number of invitations that were or were not sent for a specific survey opportunity, but we can estimate how many invitations may have been sent historically.
If you're working with the Services team, your Project Success Manager should be able to assist you with this estimate. If fielding the project on the Lucid Marketplace directly, you can estimate the number of invitations sent by dividing the number of total entrants on the quotas page by the average industry response rate of 5%. If your survey is over 3 months old, reach out to support@cint.com for the archived Data Analysis report. The number of lines = the number of entrants.
Can I ask for a respondent’s Personally Identifiable Information (PII)?
You may ask for the respondent’s PII (name, email, phone number, address) in a survey run with Lucid; however, this should be collected in the survey itself and not in the Lucid Marketplace.
If running the project with our Marketplace Services team, please include that information with the bid request or update the team at the earliest possible time. This will affect feasibility. If running the project in the Lucid Marketplace, you must check the PII checkbox on the details page to indicate to Suppliers that you will be collecting PII. These steps should be taken whether the PII collection is optional or required.
How are respondents recruited (sourced) for Marketplace?
The Lucid Marketplace is made up of hundreds of Suppliers with a diverse set of recruitment/sourcing methodologies. This method ensures that the Marketplace is not overly reliant or dependent on any particular demographic or segment of the population. Lucid’s Marketplace Supply Partners include double opt-in panels, publishing networks, social media, and other types of online communities. However, the vast majority of supply on the Lucid Marketplace originate from double opt-in Suppliers.
Respondents may be sourced from a variety of methods including the following, depending on the individual Supply Partner: Ads and promotions across various digital networks, search, word of mouth and membership referrals, social networks, online and mobile games, affiliate marketing, banner ads, offerwalls, TV and radio ads, and offline recruitment with mail campaigns.
