What is fielding assistant?
Fielding assistant is a Lucid Marketplace feature that helps you field your survey. It uses machine learning and AI to optimize your survey's performance. Simply select the goal that best suits your survey, enable fielding assistant, and it will automatically adjust your survey in flight to ensure it fills successfully.
Fielding assistant currently offers three options to help you field your survey. They are:
Balanced CPI: continuously adjusts cost per interview (CPI) while the survey is live, to help it complete on time and on budget.
Dynamic Pacing: monitors and paces the flow of respondents to ensure your survey receives the right number of responses while avoiding over-quota.
Even Pacing: automates pacing for surveys that require a consistent and balanced number of responses, such as trackers.
Timeline: monitors and paces the flow of respondents during a specified start and cutoff date range.
Who has access to fielding assistant?
Fielding assistant is available to all buyers via both the Lucid Marketplace and the fielding assistant API.

What countries can I use fielding assistant in?
Balanced CPI works best for surveys in our top markets, which are:
ENG-US, ENG-GB, GER-DE, ENG-AU, ENG-CA, FRE-FR, ENG-IN, CHI-CN, SPA-MX, JPN-JP, SPA-ES, and ITA-IT.
Dynamic and Even Pacing are global.
Are there any projects I should NOT use the fielding assistant balanced CPI option?
For balanced CPI, we recommend that buyers use it in surveys in our top markets (listed above), with only standard qualifications and an IR >30%.
If I am using fielding assistant and the cutoff time/date is reached, will my project be automatically paused?
Yes. The allocated project managers will get a notification when this happens.
