If you are interested in participating in the beta program, please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM). Cint MCP lets you complete most everyday Cint Exchange tasks from Claude, including checking feasibility, creating and launching target groups, and monitoring or closing them. Some settings are available only in the Exchange UI. A few tasks are not available anywhere through Claude. This article lists which tasks you can do in Claude, which tasks you must do in the Exchange UI, and where to find each one in the UI. Use it to check where a task happens before you start, or to find the right setting when Claude tells you it can't make a change. Available functionality in Claude will expand during the beta. ## Tasks you can do in Claude - `Set up` Check feasibility and pricing - `Set up` Create target groups as drafts - `Set up` Set supply on a target group when you create it or while it is a draft. This includes open and private exchange shares, shares reserved for named suppliers, and blocked suppliers. - `Launch` Launch target groups - `Launch` Monitor target groups - `Launch` Pause, resume, and close target groups - `Launch` Read your account's supply allocations - `Optimize` Change CPI and pacing ## Tasks that must be edited in the UI | Task | Where | | --- | --- | | Change supply on a target group that is already in field | [Advanced Settings](/v1/docs/edit-advanced-settings) | | Change field dates on a target group that is already in field | [Basic Settings](/v1/docs/edit-a-target-group) | | Set up interlocked (blended) profiles and control quotas | [Profiling](/v1/docs/edit-a-target-group#profiling) | | Set an automated CPI band or a total budget cap | [Automate Fielding](/v1/docs/edit-a-target-group) | | Export reports | [Reports](/v1/docs/cint-exchange-reports-dashboard#download-a-report) | | Clone an existing target group | [Duplicate Draft](/v1/docs/duplicate-a-project) | | Set exclusion lists, re-entry rules, and respondent activity exclusions | [Advanced](/v1/docs/edit-advanced-settings) | ### About supply If you don’t specify supply when you create a target group, it uses your account’s default allocation. For most studies, this is the right choice. After a target group starts collecting, you can change where its sample comes from only in the Exchange UI. ## Tool access and permissions Claude asks for your approval before each Cint MCP tool call runs. This is deliberate, because some actions incur a cost. | Action | What it does | Reversible? | | --- | --- | --- | | Feasibility checks, question search, project and target group reads | Looks up information | Read-only. Nothing to reverse. | | Create draft | Creates a draft target group | Yes. A draft costs nothing (outside your LLM token usage costs) | | Update target group, update CPI | Changes target group settings or price | Applies going forward. A CPI increase raises the cost of every later complete. | | Transition target groups - launch | Takes a survey live and starts buying sample | **No** | | Transition target groups - pause / resume | Stops or restarts fielding | Yes | | Transition target groups - close | Ends fielding | **No.** A closed target group can be relaunched from the Exchange UI, but relaunching is not an undo. | > [!CAUTION] > **Warning:** Do not set *the transit*ion target groups tool to “Always allow.” Launching, pausing, resuming, and closing all go through this one tool, so allowing it always allows all four. These actions spend money or end fielding, and the approval prompt is your last chance to catch a wrong target group or figure. ### **Approvals within Claude** Claude asks you to allow or decline each tool call. Your plan and your organization’s settings determine whether you can choose “Always allow” for a tool. On Team and Enterprise plans, this is an admin setting that is off by default, so every write is approved per task. If you cannot find the option, it is switched off for your organization. Use this when you want help thinking through a buy with no chance of a live call. Sign in again to restore access.
